Reflections
What did you learn?
"I learned that we were all greatly impacted by our training this summer. We are using what we know and looking for ways to expand. I see this group continuing to bond and grow professionally."
"--That we continue to have powerful, authentic words to offer one another.
--That we as educators have a unique perspective on life.
--That all CFG coaches need to be coached.
--That true CFG's are the axis of change."
"·Adapted Consultancy Protocol
·Three Levels of Text Protocol
·Look at what's good & find out why it's good"
"I was able to get a sense of CFG implementation district-wide. New protocols were shared and much appreciated, too!
I saw the Consultancy through new eyes as if it were rediscovered."
"I learned we have common hopes and concerns. Also, my own ability to be a risk-taker grew because of what I saw/heard when the group responded to the presenter in the Adapted Consultancy Protocol."
"I need CFG for myself--I underwent a 180° change in attitude, outlook, and hope between 8:00-12:00 today. I have let recent events affect not my actions but my mindset, and I recognize that I am now refocused and ready to go again!"
What do you need?
"…The opportunity to participate in a CFG to expand my thinking and better my practices. I need continued follow up to discuss & use protocols."
"--The newsletters are our link!
--Interaction with trainers"
"More time in the day"
"I discovered that I need time with the other CFG coaches in Denton. Practice, Practice, Practice."
"I need to be involved in a CFG that meets regularly so I can grow as a teacher leader. I need heartfelt reactions/suggestions/questions that focus on choices I make in my work. I also need 6 more hours in the day and at least 2 more days in the week."
"I need to take a breath and not make things more difficult than they are. I need to meet with our CFG (Denton) team to continue to remain focused."
What are your next steps?
"·use the protocols & ice breakers received today with our staff & w/ principals
·begin working with a group of staff that are interested in reflective practice to form a CFG [at my school].
·begin working w/a group of principals to form a CFG of admin."
"Solidify our action plan
--Participate actively in a DISD CFG group on a regular basis."
"·to form a CFG group & become more familiar with the protocols, icebreakers, etc. . . "
"I will begin the planning of our December 11th CFG meeting.
I will also redouble my efforts to secure a commitment for district training of more CFG coaches."
"My next step is to regroup both by myself and as a member of my staff at [my school]."
"a) Think of who some people are who might really be willing to be in CFG and who would benefit from it besides the group that's doing everything.
b) 'Fishbowl' more, inviting others to participate.
c) In January, ask for volunteers and then just get started!"

Looks like the meeting was very powerful.
Denton people keep up the work - it will all come together for you.
I hope that you will be able to travel down to Houston for the CFG Reunion in Feb.
