Winter Meeting--Eavesdropping

I really did not want to brave the single digit temperatures to go out for lunch. Lucky for me, some colleagues and I were invited to eat leftovers from the buffet that was prepared for the high school students that joined us for the World Café. I got both the pleasure of a delicious warm meal and the pleasure of listening to the high schoolers debrief with Deb and Wendy.

While listening to the debrief, I really wanted a tape recorder to record their conversation and the nuggets of wisdom that kept on emerging.

When talking about themselves as leaders, they asked "Where are the boys?" and "Where are the freshmen?" They recognized that all the voices were not present and realized that without incorporating younger students into their work, whatever changes they made to the school could be lost when they graduated.
