Portfolio Meeting

Our April meeting went very well. Even though the group was small, the work was fabulous. The Lyons' chapter is very close to the first draft being out the door.

Donna did some of the proof reading, Paul and I have been putting in most of the example writing, not previously published, and Cheryl the literature and smooth factor.

We have been working fairly well as a team and the writing partnership between Paul and I is back in full swing.

Great job everyone.

PS. First draft has been sent to editors and reviewers.

Donna:

I would like to debrief the collaborative writing experience at our next meeting. What can be done to make the process more satisfying for more members, or is this level of collaboration just inherently difficult?

Cheryl Craig:

The Nona Lyons chapter is a work-in-progress. We can continue to work on it while the reviewers have our draft. Then, when it is returned, we can make the revisions suggested by our reviewers and revisions that we thought of on our own accord. In the meantime, I have my Research Assistants reading the chapter and checking the references--just to be certain everything is accurate. This background work will help, too, when we work on the final draft. Do you think we will be asked to remove about 15-20 pages? I hope the cut won't be that deep. But one never knows... (Of course, we are in a better position than those who wrote brief chapters)
