Reflections in Connections

Just finished reading the article in Connections, "Using a Blog to Intensify Reflections" by Donna Reid in the Fall 2005 NSRF Journal. I totally agree with the insightfulness of the author. I felt I related to many of the quotes, especially the one that the blog entry stated, "I'm' embarrassed that I posted so few entries…". After the meeting yesterday of the portfolio group when we were talking about the next steps in our past year's research. I feel that the blog allows me to deepen my reflection (as the article points out) but also that it makes my work as an educator public and the work I do working in literacy public.

Ron,
Thank you for your kind words about my article in Connections. My hope is that everyone in the Portfolio Group will catch the "blogging bug" and post entries more frequently. Since we see each other in person just once a month, the blog could be a powerful tool for keeping in touch with each other's work in between meetings. I was out of town on Wednesday and couldn't make it to the portfolio meeting. Could somebody blog about it? What did you discuss? What are the next steps?
